Who We Are
The Redblades Anabaptist Church (RAC) is a new Christian denomination founded in 2026 by Henry William Steffen. Its confessional identity is TAAS — the Thomist-Arminian-Anabaptist Synthesis — derived by eliminative demonstration from The Redblades Architectonic: A Complete Theory of Reality, a fifteen-domain systematic philosophical theology proceeding from a single self-securing foundational premise.
The RAC is not a reaction formation. It is not a culture-war brand. It is the only institutional form that survives rigorous eliminative scrutiny when every alternative has been methodically closed.
What We Are Building
A denomination. Not a para-church organization, a podcast network, or a social media community. A confessional denomination with a governance canon, a confessional basis, and a clear account of what covenant membership requires.
Covenant communities. Dunbar-optimal (approximately 150 persons), physically located, governed by Presbyter-Patriarchs under the Enhanced Schleitheim Confession, federated through voluntary confederation without coercive centralization.
A complete intellectual architecture. The Redblades Architectonic provides the philosophical and theological grounding. The Last Generation makes the civilizational diagnosis accessible. The Divine Silhouette makes the apologetic case from pure reason. Three polemic documents address the three major Christian traditions that must be engaged before the RAC’s position can be evaluated fairly.
The Founder
Henry William Steffen is an independent scholar and blue collar worker. He holds no institutional academic appointment and has no organizational affiliation. The Architectonic was developed across several years without institutional support, using Claude (Anthropic) as an adversarial stress-testing and editorial instrument — with all positions, arguments, and final text the author’s own. Independent mathematical-physical corroboration is provided by Steven Graves.
Biographical specifics beyond “blue collar worker” are omitted by design. Henry’s two sons are private persons not part of the public work.
The Name
Redblades carries three layers. The blade is the sword — Balthasar Hubmaier’s recovered doctrine of legitimate community defense, the instrument of covenant protection and resistance to tyranny. The red is threefold: the blood of patriots who died defending liberty, the blood of tyrants whose aggression made that defense necessary, and the blood of martyrs — among them Hubmaier himself, burned in Vienna in 1528, and Michael Sattler, burned at Rottenburg the same year — executed for the conviction that Christian faithfulness and political courage are not in contradiction.
Gladius Spiritus — Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). The inscription on the shield. The physical capacity for defense flows from and is subordinate to the spiritual architecture of the covenant community.
Wahrheit — Truth. The word on the central blade. The first terminal virtue derived in Teleological Virtue Absolutism: formal alignment with mind-independent reality. The German honors the German-speaking Swiss Brethren from whom the Anabaptist tradition descends.
